MISSION & VISION.
The Madang Sustainable Tourism Initiative (MSTI) is a collaborative effort dedicated to promoting eco-friendly, culturally respectful, and community-driven tourism in Madang Province, Papua New Guinea. Our mission is to showcase Madang’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant communities on an international stage while ensuring that tourism development benefits local people, preserves biodiversity, and supports sustainable economic growth.
Under the Madang Sustainable Tourism Initiative, the Madang Tourism Website aims to promote eco-tourism and cultural heritage, ensuring that the unique landscapes, cultural traditions, and communities of Madang Province are showcased on an international stage. The website will also provide a platform for youth and rural community voices, promote agro-tourism, rural economy, biodiversity and conservation along with supporting initiatives related to renewable energy and waste reduction.
The Office of the Governor of Madang Province has extended support to the initiative. The Office of the Governor believes that initiative is a vital step towards promoting sustainable tourism across both rural and urban areas within the Madang province and will enhance Madang’s profile as a tourism destination, encouraging visitors to discover the region responsibly and respectfully, while contributing to the well-being of local communities.
